When you lose a tooth, you also lose your winning smile. Tooth loss not only causes embarrassment, but also interferes in your normal daily chewing and eating.
In the past, people have had to turn to bridges that require surrounding teeth for support, or to dentures that slide and shift.
Fortunately, dental implants are built to stand alone, fit securely inside your mouth and serve as a long-term solution.
To begin your implant journey, our dentist will check your teeth and take X-rays of your gums and jawbone. This is to make sure that you have enough bone for an implant.
If you do not have enough bone, then a bone graft will be applied to your existing jawbone. After the bone graft has healed and become part of your natural jawbone, the implant will be surgically attached.
The implant is basically a tiny post that acts as the root (part of the tooth that is under the gum). After about six to 12 weeks of healing, the abutment, a middle piece, is added onto the implant. A crown is then attached to the abutment. Of these three pieces, only the crown is visible.
Our dentist will have a crown created that matches the tone, color, shape and size of your regular tooth. Once your implant is completed, it will look and function just like a real tooth, so its very unlikely that anyone will notice that you an implant.
While cavities won’t happen in an implant, you will still need to clean and care for the area around the implant to prevent gum infections. You also need to visit the dentist every six months for an exam and cleaning like you normally would.
With implants, you’ll be able to taste and enjoy the foods you love. You can bite down naturally, unlike removable dentures that can make you feel uncomfortable.
With dental implants, you need not stay home, feel uncomfortable in public or be embarrassed because your smile looks different. You will look completely normal.

Careful consideration should be made when deciding on which implant system to go for. As the implants are titanium screws placed directly into the jawbone, only the best in terms of dental implant quality, dental surgeon's expertise, and technology should go into the whole process of dental implants placement. The procedure will involve not only a person's tooth (or teeth), but the jaw bone, and the whole face as well so there should be very little to no compromise in terms of the quality of materials used, as well as the whole treatment planning stage.
